The Team:
Olivia
Olivia fell in love with clay in 2010, when she took a summer job in a local craft shop after finishing a history degree in Edinburgh. In 2012, she embarked on a full time career in ceramics after winning an Arts and Humanities Research Council studentship to study for an MA in Contemporary Craft at the University for the Creative Arts, whilst at the same time working as apprentice to potter and writer Julian Stair. From here, Olivia has developed her individual style and unique body of work, which can be seen in galleries and exhibitions in the UK and abroad.
Ben
Ben began working in the studio in 2022 and has been instrumental in developing the wall piece strand of the collection. Brilliant at all things technical, he has developed the process of applying tadelakt to these pieces, achieving the highly refined finish we needed, as well as being the mastermind behind the practicalities of applying tens of thousands of porcelain shards to something suspended in the air.
With a background in writing and teaching, Ben helps with all aspects of the running of the studio - from marketing to design, making to shipments.
Zakira
Zakira is our fabulous studio assistant, helping to make the thousands upon thousands of different porcelain components that are used on our pieces. Zakira works with us to create new techniques and processes for making these components, as well as helping with the day-to-day running of the studio. Outside of her work with us, Zakira has a studio and ceramics practice of her own.
